How are Digital Contact Sheets used?

Proofing. Contact sheets are traditionally used to proof an entire roll of film. They provide a quick reference of every frame laid out together so you can make quick selects.

Exposure Reference. Contact sheets provide a better understanding of overexposure / underexposure versus seeing individual film scans. With individual frames, it is tough to evaluate exposure inconsistencies since scan brightness is often adjusted frame-by-frame (i.e. brighter scans for underexposed frames, darker scans for overexposed frames, etc).

Sharing. Our Digital Contact Sheets allow photographers to crop in on single images while preserving film border details (i.e. KODAK PORTRA 800). Photographers can utilize this feature to share images online and make small prints that showcase film borders.
